Today is such an exciting day!
My book, Rise: A Call to Be Bold & Rise to Your Purpose, is finally ready to be shared with you.
It has been 14 months of blood, sweat, and tears … minus the blood, but a definitely sweat, tears and lots of late late nights.
What inspired me to write Rise?
Rise started with the intention of writing a money book.
In late 2012, I pulled out my favorite books, old journals, magazines, and a fresh notebook and spread them all over the living room floor. I was ready to write my first money book!
Except it quickly turned into more than how to “date your dollars.”
(my living room floor back in 2012)
The first draft was a seven chapter, title-less book about my personal journey and life lessons.
I thought,¬†Maybe I’ll make this a personal book of all my favorite life lessons. Heck, I could use the reminder so I stop dating the same a-holes!
(I really thought that)
Ahhhh … it was like therapy. Highly recommended, by the way. I loved getting everything out onto the computer screen.
I didn’t know if I would ever share it. I mean, it was so dang personal.
In January 2013, desperately needing some quick cash to pay the rent due in two days, I shared the first draft with 26 women who signed up to read the title-less book.
I was BLOWN AWAY by their response.
I realized that this was way more than just a personal project to record my favorite lessons. There was power in sharing my story.
For the next year I continued to add more until it became what it is today.
Who was Rise written for?
Have you ever felt like the life you’re living doesn’t feel true to you?
We all feel that at some point, right?
I believe that feeling is life is calling you to RISE.
When your inner voice speaks to you, you’re left with the choice to stay where you are (it’s usually uncomfortably comfortable), or RISE to what life is calling you to do.
If you’re ready to be bold and RISE to your purpose, this book is for you.
It starts with my decision to leave an almost ten-year career in law enforcement to pursue my dream business, and includes all the celebrations and bumps that come with taking such a big leap, like uncertainty and facing my greatest fear.
Thank you for celebrating with me today!
If you want to read more of my story and RISE to what you’re being called to do, get your copy¬†here.
